I am very excited to announce that one of my Leaf Series vessels in recycled glass has been accepted into the Sooke Fine Arts Show. For any artist, entering a juried show is the ultimate form of competition and being accepted is the greatest compliment...other than someone purchasing your work and taking it to a forever home. :)
The Leaf Series is limited to one fused glass vessel and 2 recycled glass vessels and each one is unique. It's quite amazing to be able to take an old window and create a beautiful new piece of art that also happens to be functional.
So mark your calendars...the show runs from July 26th to August 5th.

When you are next visiting the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, I hope you'll have a chance to check out the Gift Shop there. I'm very honored to have my work for sale there and delivered 7 new pieces to them May 28th, 2019. There are 3 fused glass pieces and 4 recycled glass - functional pieces.
Green Space (above) is fused and slumped Bullseye Glass with dichroic highlights. It measures 15.5 in W x 10.5 in H and 2 in deep - $350 and available at the AGGV Gift shop.
I'm always looking for different ways to best display art glass and came across this photo for a collection by Marc Konys Glass Design. Not only is the display on bent glass shelves so appealing, if you are a glass lover you will note that this collection is exceptional. There are several beautiful works by William Morris, a Chihuly, Toots Zynsky and Lino Tagliapietra and those are just the pieces that I immediately recognize.
For those of us who love glass, this collection is a perfect example of the range of this fascinating medium.
