Pauline Olesen is a Canadian artist living on Piers Island, near Sidney, BC. A fortuitous experiment with glass many years ago ignited a curiosity and passion for this medium. While the process of glass making and fusing was discovered in the times of Ancient Egypt, the skills were lost when glass blowing techniques developed. Glass fusing re-emerged in the early 1960's and continues to move into the "art" world with studio glass creations. Pauline's work in fused glass reflects travels, cultures and creatures from around the world. She is self taught in this medium experimenting in her Piers Island studio. Although her work is shown and sold only on Vancouver Island, her pieces find homes around the world. Pauline will offers workshops and enjoys sharing her experiences and learned lessons to those who would like to try fused glass. Check the Workshops page for more information on the mediums of glass, ceramics and jewelry design too. Enjoy a tour through the Virtual Galleries for Sculpture, Art Glass and jewelry pieces that are currently available. The website is updated regularly with new work, gallery and show information, so you are invited to visit often.
